Shou Sugi Ban

Handmade, fire finished maple wood planter boxes.  

We save maple scraps from a local manufacturer and hand make our 6″ planters. We flame finish the curly maple with a technique that resembles shou sugi ban. Shou sugi ban was made a household name by Chip and Joanna Gaines when they finished a house boat with shou sugi ban on Season 4, Episode 9 of the hit show on HGTV, “Fixer Upper”.
